Message from the President

The American Technion Society – Chicago has been a proud leader in providing both vision and financial support to ATS and the Technion. I became involved in ATS – Chicago in 1981 and went on to become president twice, including my current term. During my time with ATS – Chicago, we have sent four of our members to become presidents of ATS, and one became chair of the Technion’s International Board of Governors. We currently have five members who serve on the Technion’s Board of Governors.

ATS – Chicago Leadership Council president.

Through the generosity and vision of our supporters, we have built the Asher Space Center which enabled Israel to put its first satellites into space. We have funded numerous laboratories that serve to attract the top scientists and engineers, and dormitories to house the best and brightest technology students who are highly sought by all the high-tech companies in Haifa. We have many ways of introducing new supporters to our region and ATS through meetings with visiting professors, students, and graduates — many of whom have created startup companies throughout the U.S.

In addition, we have a highly engaged group of attorneys and CPAs who comprise our Planned Giving Committee, which hosts an annual Federal Tax Legislation Breakfast program, featuring a former staff director for the Senate Finance Committee, who now is a Partner at Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck.

To be added to our invitation list for any of our programming, please email [email protected]. I invite you to become a part of our Technion family.

Host a Private Event or Special Briefing

We welcome supporters to open their homes for parlor meetings with guest speakers from the Technion. These intimate gatherings allow our supporters and local leadership to become acquainted with one another and with the speaker.

We can also arrange one-on-one meetings with a Technion researcher who is working on projects in your area of interest.

Planned Giving

Have you considered the Technion in your estate planning? ATS support of Technion facilities, research, faculty and students has led to discoveries that have made life better for people around the world. Be part of that legacy. A planned gift can lower your tax bill, increase your income and your heirs’ inheritance, and unlock value in your real estate.

The Chicago Planned Giving Committee hosts the Annual Federal Tax Legislation Breakfast for financial, tax, wealth, and estate planning professionals. The breakfast program, generously underwritten by a partnering bank, features a Washington, D.C. insider who provides an update on upcoming tax legislation.
