President of the American Technion Society (ATS)
Janet Shatz is a second-generation American Technion Society (ATS) supporter who brings enormous energy and passion to everything she takes on for ATS. She applies her marketing skill, strategic thinking, and devotion for the Technion to provide core operating support.

Janet began her tenure as ATS president in October 2026. She previously served as American Technion Society president in Washington, D.C., following her late father, Paul Shatz, who led the region in the 2000s and received a Technion Honorary Fellowship.

Having long been a key member of the organization, Janet leads by example, hosting events and mentoring new Board members. Graduating from the ATS 21st Century Leadership Development Program in 2009, Janet was increasingly involved on all levels. Locally, she headed an awards committee to help recruit promising high school students for the Technion SciTech science summer camp. As a National Board member, she chaired the Budget Committee and served on the Finance Committee, Investment Committee, and others. She also co-chaired the Leadership Development Committee. Janet is a member of the Board of Governors and is on the Finance Committee.

Janet holds an M.B.A. from George Washington University in Finance and Investments and spent much of her professional career at Fannie Mae. She returned to school to pursue a master of art painting program, and she serves on the board of the Bezalel Art Institute in Jerusalem and the Arts and Entertainment Board of Bethesda, Maryland.
