Technion student and IDF air force reservist D. climbs into the cockpit knowing that every mission carries real stakes. High above Israel, he navigates tense skies and responds to emerging threats, fully aware that the safety of civilians below often depends on the skill, judgment, and split-second decisions of pilots like him.
Each flight demands focus, discipline, and extraordinary courage. Yet when he lands, D. returns to campus life at the Technion, balancing rigorous academic work with the responsibilities of military service. Like many students called to reserve duty, he moves between two worlds: defending his country and preparing for the future he hopes to help build.
D.’s story reflects the resilience and determination that define the Technion community today. In classrooms, laboratories, and even the cockpit, students like him embody a spirit of responsibility and perseverance that continues to shape Israel’s present and its future.
Student reservists defend Israel. Let’s support them.

Within 20 minutes, L. had packed her things and was helping mobilize reserve battalions, distribute weapons and equipment, and prepare soldiers to enter […]
When I read that Hackney Council had voted to begin ending its twinning arrangement with Haifa, I couldn’t help wondering: why Haifa? Whatever your views on the wider Middle East conflict, Haifa has always felt different. It is probably Israel’s most multicultural city – a place where Jews, Muslims, Christians, Druze and Baha’is live alongside one another. It’s a city where Hebrew and Arabic are heard every day, and where people from different communities don’t just coexist; they work, study and build lives together. It isn’t perfect, no city is. But if we’re looking for examples of what coexistence can…
