The focus of her academic work is tissue engineering and biomechanics, an area she hopes to pursue professionally upon graduating. Her research aims to develop technologies such as artificial organs and improved prosthetics and address critical medical challenges such as organ shortage and mobility impairments.
“This area of study combines my passion for engineering with a desire to improve lives through innovative healthcare solutions,” she explains. “Being part of a field that bridges cutting-edge technology with human well-being motivates me to contribute meaningfully to the future of medicine.”
Beyond her studies, Nikol is active in the swimming world. She serves as the head coach and team manager of the only artistic swimming school in northern Israel, which operates out of the Technion’s sports center. She brings deep personal experience to the position: during high school she swam with the Israeli national team and on her hometown’s city team. Following October 7 and during the war with Hamas, Nikol devoted extra attention to her role as a mentor to Israeli children.
“During the war, I dedicated a significant amount of time to supporting the children, ensuring they maintained a consistent training routine despite the challenges,” she says. “This experience has reinforced the importance of my role in offering stability and care to my students, not just in their athletic development, but also in their emotional well-being.”
Nikol was born and raised in Ashdod. In addition to swimming, she enjoys tennis, surfing, Pilates, spending time at the beach, and watching movies. She speaks English, Russian, and Hebrew.
