Before joining the Technion, Dr. Aviram was vice president and chief executive officer of the Azrieli College and chairman of the Forum of CEOs of the Council of Heads of Public Colleges. He also spent eight years as the executive director of the Edmond and Lily Safra Center for Brain Sciences and was part of the founding team at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Dr. Aviram was released from the IDF in 2004 with the rank of colonel after serving in the Armored Corps. He held several roles, including deputy commander of a reserve division and head of the IDF Units Inspection Department. He continued to serve in the reserves as the commander of Reserve Brigade 274 for over 14 years.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in physics and atmospheric sciences with honors from the Hebrew University, a master’s degree in business administration with honors from Tel Aviv University, and a Ph.D. in management sciences from Pace University’s Lubin School of Business.

In his free time, Dr. Aviram enjoys photography, birdwatching, sports, and hiking. He resides in Haifa and Yehud with his partner, Ayala, and their three children.
