Mr. Klein became involved with the Technion after his first trip to Israel following the Yom Kippur War in 1973. He is a member of the Technion Board of Governors and a past president of the American Technion Society’s Philadelphia Chapter. He has also served as chair of the ATS Greater Delaware Valley Chapter. For his deep and abiding personal connection to the Technion and ATS, he received a Technion Honorary Fellowship in 2016 and a Technion Honorary Doctorate in 2023.
Mr. Klein is a Technion Guardian, a designation reserved for those whose contributions reach the highest levels. Among the Technion initiatives he has supported are: the Global Engineering Center, the Emergency Fund for Technion Students, the Research Center for the Study of New Concepts in Material Science & Technology, the Ray and Miriam Klein Research Prize, and the Flight Control & Guidance Laboratory in the Faculty of Aerospace Engineering.
Mr. Klein is an active art collector, mountain climber, and pilot, and has three children.
