Israeli public transport app Moovit, which helps travelers navigate local journeys in more than 100 countries, has launched a new platform for longer, intercity trips.

The cross-regional planning will allow users to plan journeys across regions of a country, using both public and shared transportation. The app already covers a range of methods of public transport, including buses, trains and even motorized scooters available for hire on the street.

The new platform lets travelers plan routes between locations in different regions of a country where Moovit is active, within the same time zone in locations with more than one. Users will also be able to plan journeys in different locations to the one in which they are located at the time.

“Since day one, Moovit has been committed to guiding people in getting around town effectively and conveniently using any mode of public and shared transportation,” said Moovit VP Product Ziv Kabaretti.
