The American Technion Society (ATS) is currently seeking a Director of Development (Los Angeles) to join their growing organization. This position is a hybrid Los Angeles-based role.

Salary range: $140,000-175,000

Based in New York City, it represents thousands of US donors, alumni, and stakeholders who invest in the Technion's growth and innovation to advance critical research and technologies that serve the State of Israel and the global good. ATS employs a staff of 60 + that work from New York and in regional offices across the United States.

Your Role

As a passionate advocate for Israel, the Director of Development role offers an exciting blend of fundraising expertise with a meaningful contribution to Israel’s economic success. In this role you will be the face of our organization in the greater Los Angeles area, managing events, building relationships, and being involved in exciting U.S. and Israel-based initiatives. This is more than a job; it’s a chance to make a significant impact. Reporting to the Regional Senior Director of Development, Western Region you will incorporate diverse fundraising skills, conduct direct solicitations, build a pipeline of prospects, and manage events in the greater Los Angeles area. As the Technion is in its 100th year, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in the planning of exciting events, throughout the U.S. and in Israel.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Develop and grow American Technion Society’s donor base of individuals and foundations capable of giving $25,000
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of 100 prospects, of which 40 will be high-priority potential donors
  • Involve and partner with lay leadership in activities and strategies to build and leverage their volunteer leadership throughout the territory/portfolio
  • Engage in direct and systematic prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of high-net-worth individuals
  • Advance the presence of ATS through impactful activities that further the interaction with prospects and be a key figure representing the Technion in these circles
  • Deploy resources to maximize the philanthropic potential of assigned territory and/or portfolio.  Work with ATS colleagues in the development of strategic annual and long-term fundraising plans and evaluate progress to goals
  • Foster relationships with key ATS and Technion stakeholders in areas of prospect development, proposal development, stewardship, etc.
  • Utilize the ATS database to maintain accurate records of all donor interactions, individuals’ programmatic interests, trends in giving and type of support to solicit
  • Travel throughout the greater Los Angeles area, as well as periodic trips for professional meetings in the U.S. and to the Technion campus in Haifa

The position is hybrid and based out of the Los Angeles (LA) office located in Beverly Hills. This person will be required to work from the LA office up to 2 days a week, attend quarterly regional board meetings, and travel to donor and prospect meetings throughout the greater Los Angeles area.
