Mr. Julis is a former member of the ATS National Board of Directors and has been instrumental in building the ATS community in Los Angeles. With his wife, Joleen, he is a Technion Guardian, an honor for those who support the university at the highest levels. He has supported master’s and postdoctoral fellowships, cancer research, and environmental studies at the Stephen and Nancy Grand Water Research Institute. A champion of the Joan & Irwin Jacobs Technion-Cornell Institute, he helped launch the Urban Tech hub, and is a member of the Jacobs Institute Steering Committee.
In 2019, Mr. Julis was awarded a Technion Honorary Fellowship for his tireless efforts to advance science for the betterment of Israel and the world.
Mr. Julis is co-founder, co-chairman, and co-CEO of Canyon Partners, LLC, a leading alternative asset management firm. He is a graduate of the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University, where he served on the Board of Trustees and is a member of the Advisory Council for the Julis-Rabinowitz Center for Public Policy and Finance. He earned an M.B.A. at Harvard Business School and a J.D. from Harvard Law School, where he helped establish a program on Jewish and Israeli law. He is a member of the Board of Trustees at the Asia Society, and is co-founder of Academic Exchange, an organization committed to deepening the understanding of Israel and the Middle East in the academic community.
