Some of Israel’s most impactful technology stories begin not in boardrooms, but in the shared intensity of military service and the collaborative halls of the Technion. Armis is one such story.
Founded in 2015, Armis has grown into one of the world’s leading cybersecurity companies. In December 2025, it was acquired by the American software giant ServiceNow for an extraordinary $7.75 billion in cash, marking one of the largest cybersecurity exits in Israel’s history.
At the heart of this success are its founders Yevgeny Dibrov and Nadir Izrael, whose friendship and partnership were forged through the army and deepened at the Technion.
The two first met while serving in elite technological units of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), collaborating on a joint project that earned the prestigious IDF Prize. But it was after their military service, when they studied together in the Technion’s Lapidim excellence program in the Henry and Marilyn Taub Faculty of Computer Science, where they became close friends and began imagining what they might build together. The Technion environment, known for rigor, creativity, and collaboration, helped shape the mindset that would later define Armis: ambitious, mission‑driven, and rooted in solving real‑world problems at scale.
The Technion is the best boot camp in the world in that it trains you and then tests you at an even higher level,” said Izrael. “Later in life, I was better equipped to meet challenges because I had had that experience at the Technion.”

The company set out to address a fast‑emerging problem: how organizations could secure the growing universe of internet-connected devices — from laptops and servers to printers, medical equipment, factory systems, and industrial infrastructure. What began with securing IoT (internet of things) devices quickly evolved into a much broader vision.
Armis developed software that gives organizations a complete, real‑time picture of every device and digital asset they own — along with the risks, vulnerabilities, and relationships between them. This approach proved transformative.
At the time of the sale, Armis served approximately 2,000 organizations worldwide, including more than one‑third of the top 100 companies in the United States, and has grown to nearly 1,000 employees in Israel and globally.
The company expanded aggressively and thoughtfully, acquiring Israeli startups to deepen its capabilities in protecting hospitals, industrial facilities, power plants, water systems, and enterprise networks. Its growth was both rapid and disciplined.
ServiceNow, the acquiring company, is a global leader in software that helps large organizations run digital, automated workflows across IT, operations, risk, and security. Its cybersecurity and risk division has already surpassed $1 billion in annual contracts, and the acquisition of Armis significantly strengthens its ability to help customers understand and manage cyber risk across their entire digital environments.
The Armis story is more than a headline‑grabbing exit.
