The Technion’s story has been intertwined with Israel’s for more than a century, from laying the foundations for a new nation to shaping its future.
Researchers from the Faculty of Data and Decision Sciences at the Technion have developed a technology capable of identifying various aspects of a reader’s interaction with a text that is based solely on their eye movements. The team’s findings were presented at Association for Computational Linguistics, a conference in the field of Natural Language Processing (NLP) in Vienna. The research was led by doctoral student Omer Shubi, together with master’s student Cfir Hadar, under the supervision of Dr. Yevgeni Berzak. People read texts with different goals. Whether it’s a novel, a cooking recipe, a newspaper article, or a scientific paper,…

For many older adults, something as simple as breakfast can become a challenge. Chewing is harder, digestion is slower, and foods once enjoyed lose their appeal. But what if a bowl of cereal could do more than just start the day? What if it could support better health, be easy to eat, and actually taste […]

This Passover, he conducted a service for more than 300 people in Monaco. He juggles his studies and his career while helping to […]

This is a volunteer project that provides free private lessons via Zoom to evacuee students from all over the country. So far, hundreds of volunteers have participated in it and hundreds of students have benefited from it, and it doesn’t look like it will stop anytime soon. It all started with a sense of frustration. Ohad Tshuva, an electrical engineering…

The electrocardiogram (ECG) is one of the most essential tools in modern medicine, used to detect heart problems ranging from arrhythmias to structural abnormalities. In the U.S. alone, millions of ECGs are performed each year, whether in emergency rooms or routine doctor visits. As artificial intelligence (AI) systems become more advanced, they are increasingly being used to analyze ECGs—sometimes even detecting conditions that doctors might miss. The problem with this is that doctors need to understand why an AI system is making a certain diagnosis. While AI-powered ECG analysis can achieve high accuracy, it often works like a “black box,”…
Everyone tried to talk him out of it: his parents, brother, cousins, friends, even his unit commander. “My commander told me, ‘Don’t worry, we’ll be fine. We have enough people. We’ll be in and out in days.’” As an Israeli student studying abroad, N., 32, was not obligated to serve. He had only two months […]
