Letter From Leadership
This has truly been a year unlike any other. When the American Technion Society began its fiscal year on October 1, 2023, we were brimming with excitement and grand plans for celebrating the centennial year of the Technion. Less than a week later, the events of October 7 would irrevocably change the course of the year for the Technion, Israel, and the world.
As you read our Year in Review, we hope you’ll be inspired by how the Technion took care of the campus community – including the 3,500 students, faculty, and staff called to active duty — while caring for others in the region and across Israel. Much of this was made possible by the generosity of Americans and other donors who contributed to the Technion Emergency Student and Security Support Fund, the Technion Reservist Fund, and the ATS Technion Fund.
If you know anything about the Technion, you know it’s always moving forward for the benefit of Israel. It was especially uplifting to hear that point emphasized repeatedly during our nationwide Technion centennial events, featuring former Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and best-selling author Saul Singer.
The light cast by the Technion’s resilience shined bright during this challenging year, as evidenced by the plethora of significant research advancements, stellar academic rankings, and high honors and awards resulting from the efforts of its people. Even amidst an ongoing war on multiple fronts, the Technion continues to be a bastion of hope and the vital research critical for the security, stability, and future of Israel and the world.
