LISTEN: A Conversation About Feeling, Thinking, and Becoming

Dr. Yael Pilowsky Bankirer is a psychoanalyst and a poet, based in Cambridge, UK. She is a medical doctor and holds a Ph.D. in gender studies and psychoanalysis. Yael is a member of the Site for Contemporary Psychoanalysis in London, and a co-editor of Sitegeist — a journal of psychoanalysis and philosophy.

This new episode of our “Technion Alumni Go Global” podcast is a little different. Our guest began her journey in internal medicine, and along the way expanded her studies into psychiatry, psychoanalysis, feminist philosophy, and additional fields. Together, we dive more than usual into our inner lives, consciousness, emotions, gender, philosophy, and even poetry.

As this is the final episode of Season Two, this conversation feels like the perfect way to close the series, touching on a wide range of themes — from circumcision and menopause to the experience of raising Hebrew-speaking kids abroad. And as a special treat, we also get to hear some of Yael’s poetry.
