Ten days after the outbreak of the Yom Kippur War in 1973, Stephen B. Klein visited Israel with his father, Raymond, and his brother, Warren. They spent the first day in the field, escorted by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), and later visited a hospital to talk with wounded soldiers.

In early March, a small group of American Technion Society National Board members traveled to Israel on a Solidarity and Science Trip in support of the students and faculty of the Technion. The intense visit was deeply significant and profoundly memorable.

American Technion Society Honors 100 Years of Technion
Since opening its doors in 1924, the Technion has helped build Israel, safeguard its citizens, and prepare for the future. To commemorate a century of dreams dreamed — and often fulfilled — the American Technion Society held events across the nation recognizing Technion achievements and ATS donors whose philanthropic fingerprints are on buildings, laboratories, and programs throughout campus.

ATS Hosts Distinguished Guests Across the Nation
To honor the centennial year, “Start-up Nation” coauthor Saul Singer and Technion Professor Moran Bercovici spoke at other special events in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Scottsdale, Arizona. Technion Executive Vice President for Innovation and Industry Relations Professor Lihi Zelnik-Manor joined Singer for events in Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia, and New York City. Other events featured Nobel Laureate and Distinguished Professor Aaron Ciechanover, Professor Ehud Behar, Technion Vice President for External Relations and Resource Development Wayne Kaplan, former Technion President Peretz Lavie, and current Technion President Uri Sivan.
