Can a Bra Really Change Lives?
Meet U-Bra, the award-winning creation of Technion alumna Maayan Kinsbursky. This fully customized, 3D-printed bra with an integrated prosthesis is more than clothing. It helps women postmastectomy reclaim comfort, confidence, and a sense of normalcy. Maayan’s passion for creating meaningful solutions exemplifies how design and technology can improve lives — and this Breast Cancer Awareness Month, it reminds us of the power of innovation to empower women everywhere.

U-Bra: Fully customized, 3D-printed bras with an integrated prosthesis for women who have undergone a mastectomy
“I am a 31-year-old industrial designer, a wife, and a mother to a baby. I hold a bachelor’s degree in industrial design from Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design and a master’s degree in industrial design from the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, which I completed with honors. My thesis focused on the design and development of customized bras for women who have undergone mastectomy. This project was selected for the T-Start program at the Technion and, six months ago, was awarded a Red Dot Design Concept Award for its innovative approach. I am passionate about combining design and technology to create meaningful, user-centered solutions that improve lives.”
